Villain Motion: Better Late / Than Never

Better Late/Than Never was my first video project I made in collaboration with my business partner Duane Bratsch under the name “Villain Motion”. A name we came up with after the feeling of being disparaged from the endless run in’s with law enforcement from doing something we felt was so harmless: Snowboarding on other people’s property. It essentially was a team video for our startup company No Way! Snowboards and the context in which I learned how to work with a team.

The project ended up taking two seasons, which felt like a major setback at the time. In hindsight I’m glad we waited to compile something worthwhile that we were proud of instead of releasing something half-baked. We got to premier the movie at Greater Nevada Field, the home of the Reno Aces as an opening act for big name major league Videograss. We felt like rockstars that night. It was a great beginning to the short journey that was my snowboard filming career.
